Vivian Wilson passed away Wednesday, May 27 at Signature Health Care. She was born on March 17, 1915 in Duluth, Minnesota.
She was a Bell System telephone operator on December 7, 1941 and told about the overwhelming number of incoming calls that day.
She was a caring person and volunteered her time in the PTA, the Red Cross and U.S. Agriculture Extension Service. She was a past Worthy Matron in the O.E.S. and was a Grand Page with the Wisconsin Grand Chapter of Eastern Star.
During World War II she was a member of the U.S.O. where she met her husband of 45 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon C. Wilson, Jr., and her sister, Margorie Landahl and parents, Oscar and Klara Carlson. She is survived by her son, Lonnie Wilson (Brenda) of Columbia.
By her wishes, a private ceremony for the immediate family will be conducted at Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Manning officiating. She will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
The family wishes to thank the health care professionals at Signature Health Care for her care. The family also thanks Mr. James Patterson of the Veteran’s Affairs office for his assistance in this difficult time.
