Virginia Sue (Dobbins) Gordon of Pulaski, TN was born on August 1, 1921 and departed this life on September 18, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Tillman and Adelaide Dobbins. Sue was happily married to the late Robert A. Gordon until his death on February 26, 2001.
She worked as a homemaker/nanny for various families throughout the community. She made her confession in Christ, was baptized and joined Indian Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She later served as a mother at St. James Primitive Baptist Church. Sue was honored as the eldest mother of Lynn Creek Association.
Mrs. Gordon leaves to mourn their loss and to ever cherish the memory of a beautiful and beneficial life spent with them, a loving and devoted daughter, Linda Sue Gilbert (Milroy); of Pulaski, TN; devoted god-sons, Frank, John and Robert Murrey; all of Pulaski, TN; a loving and devoted grandaughter; Lauren Christian Gilbert, Lawrenceburg, TN.; step-grandaughter, Ashley Gilbert; Athens, AL; devoted nephews Albert Mills (Alice); James Bradley, all of Nashville, TN; devoted friend Betty Murrey, 3 beloved great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 21st from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Greater Faith Church.
Funeral Service will follow visitation on Wednesday at 12:00pm at the Greater Faith Church.
Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
