Virginia Louise Camp

Virginia Louise Camp, age 90, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Virginia was born December 9, 1931.

Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, and Granny that took delight in her family. While her children were growing up she was an involved and ever present Mom that attended school functions and activities. After her children had grown up and left home, she still made it a point to try to speak with them everyday. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and especially working in her yard and flowers. She loved her dogs, Penny and Sam. Virginia was an avid reader and would read every book in the library until her eyesight failed.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Edison Camp; her son Alan Camp; her parents Earl and Lillie Howard; and her sister Annette Burgess.

Virginia is survived by her children Bryan Camp (Edie) and Debra Rushakoff (Rob); daughter in law Cynthia Camp; grandchildren Amanda Weaver (Ben), Melissa Adkins (Rob), Heather Colbert (Dalton), Christopher Camp, and Alex Camp; great grandchild Aiden Weaver; sister Bonnie Miller; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service for Virginia will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Crestwood Cemetery. Rev. L. Dale Butler and Ben Weaver will officiate. Collier Butler will direct services.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Rhonda Elliott for being a kind and caring neighbor. Also special thanks to the nurses and staff of the third floor at Riverview Regional Medical Center.

Flowers will be accepted, or contributions in Virginia’s memory may be made to Humane Society Pet Rescue and Adoption Center, 4200 Brooke Avenue, Gadsden, Alabama 35904.
