Virginia Delmas Odil

Virginia Delmas Odil passed away peacefully on April 28, 2022. Known to her friends and family as Delmas, she was born in Spring Hill, Tennessee on August 9, 1932 to Louise and Floyd Odil, along with her sisters, Mary Ann and Dorothy, and her brother Dick. After graduating from Spring Hill High School and attending college, she lived in Washington, D.C for 30 years. Delmas worked as a legal secretary at the Washington Gas Company and then at the Health Corporation of American in Nashville.

She was beloved by her family and her dear friends Elizabeth Rogers and Jeanette Wright. Delmas was devout in her Catholic faith, and was a member of the St. Ann’s Parish in Nashville. Delmas was known for her kindness, sense of humor and quick smile. Her interests included reading, jigsaw puzzles and baking cookies. She is survived by her niece Sharon (Jerry) Jacobs and her great nieces Elizabeth and Madeleine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor be made to support the work of Nashville Catholic Charities, Hunger Relief or Housing Stability Services, at cctenn.org.
