Funeral service for Virginia Christine Cheatham O’Dell, of Decatur, will be Thursday, August 8, 2013, 7:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Hyche officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be Friday, August 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at Aldridge Grove Cemetery.
Ms. O’Dell, who died Monday, August 5, 2013, at Falkville Health Care Center, was born in Lawrence County to Robert Frank Cheatham and Maggie Smith Cheatham.
She is survived by one son, Danny O’Dell of Pace, FL; one daughter, Kathy Owens of Decatur; grandchildren, Reggie Owens, Mandy Cannon, Dana Sullivan, and Barry Manner, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their special thanks to the friends and caregivers at Falkville Health Care Center and Southern Care Hospice for their compassionate care of Ms. O’Dell.
