Celebration of life services for Virginia Ann Blount McFall, 85, of Corinth will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2022, at First United Methodist Church of Corinth. Prior to that, visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the church. A burial service will follow at Memory Gardens in Savannah, TN. Her full, blessed life ended Friday, April 22, 2022. Arrangements are under the direction of McPeters Funeral Home in Corinth, MS.
Virginia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, affectionately known as “Mimi”, was born November 28, 1936, in Savannah, TN to the late William Jones and Beulah Harrison Blount. She graduated from Central High School in Savannah, TN, and the University of Tennessee-Martin in 1958, with a degree in Home Economics. While at UTM, Virginia married the love of her life, Harvey Eugene (“Gene”) McFall on June 10, 1955. After graduation, she taught grade school in Memphis, TN and Little Rock, AR. In 1961, Virginia and Gene moved to Corinth, MS where they opened a Ford Tractor dealership and began their family. Virginia was a very giving person and loved by many. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, serving many years as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, as well as on other numerous committees. In the community, she was a Corinth Junior Auxiliary member, Garden Club member and Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Virginia was an avid tennis player and loved to play with her family. “Mimi” was a passionate supporter of her children and grandchildren, often traveling hours to see them play sports.
Virginia was preceded in death by her four brothers: Clyde, Bruce, Paul and Dean Blount. She is survived by her husband of almost sixty-seven years, Harvey Eugene (Gene) McFall; her four children: daughters, Mary Ann Brown and husband, Joe of Germantown, TN, and Lisa Pannell and husband, Robert of Greenwood, MS, and sons, Michael McFall and wife, Paige of Corinth, MS, and Mark McFall of Corinth, MS; ten grandchildren, Preston Brown (Elizabeth), Holly Ann Pannell Singh (Jason), Haley McFall, Jackson Pannell, William Brown, Wesley McFall, John Michael McFall, Steve Pannell, Carson McFall, and Jane Rob Pannell; three great-grandchildren, Ann Pinder, Jack and Walt Singh; and fifteen nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the loving and dedicated caregivers as well as hospice care provided by Kare-In-Home.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church of Corinth, MS or one’s favorite charity.
