Virginia A. Lauderdale – Obituary

Virginia A. Lauderdale age 84 of Elkmont, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Lauderdale was born September 10, 1930 in Limestone County, AL to Elijah Amerson and Mary Carr Amerson.
Services will be Friday, June 26, 2015 11:00 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Kasey Harbin and Mike Owens officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mrs. Lauderdale was a member of Sandlin Road Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Mary Amerson; husbands, Carl Rufus Lauderdale
and Alvin Atkinson;son, Steve Lauderdale; brothers, Edgar Amerson, Forest Amerson and Robert Amerson; sister, Emma Jean Amerson.

Survived by two sons, Dwight Lauderdale and wife, Barbara of Jacksonville, FL, Stanley Lauderdale and wife, Janie of Elkmont; one daughter, Annette Powers and husband, Curtiss of Elkmont; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; four brothers, George Amerson, Hubert Amerson and wife, Sherry all of Elkmont, Tommy Amerson and wife, Debbie and Ricky Amerson both of Athens; five sisters, Lucille Amerson of Athens, Tera Hamby of Pulaski, TN, Mary Webb, of Athens, Brenda Kennemer of Elkmont and Patricia Posey of Athens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
