Virgil Paul Ikard

Virgil Paul Ikard, age 65, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday May 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Virgil was born on September 28, 1957, the son of James Ernest Ikard and Ethel Eveleen Ikard-Warren. Along his life’s journey, Virgil worked in various professions including as a police officer and bus driver but he is most remembered for being the proud owner of his landscaping company, where he found peace in nature and mowing grass. Virgil was a faithful member of the Pulaski Holiness Church.

Virgil leaves behind his two daughters, Callie Austin (Jeremy) and Haley Gentle (Alan); his sisters, Debra, Janice, and Marty, and his brother, Calvin. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Slade Austin, Emmett Gentle, and Reagan Gentle, along with his beloved four-legged friend, J-Lo, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, James Ernest Ikard and Ethel Eveleen Ikard (Warren).

Visitation for Virgil will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 10:30 until 12:00 noon at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville. Service s will be held in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 noon with a graveside service to follow at the Cochran Cemetery in New Market, Alabama.
