Virgil Lee Melvin, 83, of Iuka, MS, formerly of Rockford, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at his daughter’s residence. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, tinkering, and bird watching. He was a computer enthusiast and an avid gardener. He is survived by his daughter, Lowonda Helms (James); his son, Joseph Melvin (Beverly); his grandchildren, Christopher, Marlana, Roman, Faith, and Hope; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emo and Hilda Pierce Melvin; and several brothers and sisters. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements.
