Virgil James Weaver, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at his home Nov. 05, 2016.
Mr. Weaver is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruth Weaver, and two daughters, Sherry and Carol.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, Jean Sutherland Weaver; two sons, Curtis Weaver and Michael Weaver; four brothers, Raymond, Burl, Fred, and Delbert Weaver; one sister, Doris Whitson, all of Knoxville Tennessee; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was retired from General Motors Company and a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Weaver was a Mason for over 50 years and was an active member of the Masonic Rising Sun Lodge #29 of Decatur, and a member of the Somerville Lodge #721.
Pallbearers will be Chandler Weaver, Bob Weaver, Ronald Whitson, Chase Shattles, David Juric, and Steve Poole.
Visitation will be today, Nov. 07, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will also be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 08, 2016 with Pastor Joe Holmes officiating. Masonic Rites Service by Gene Anderton and internment will follow at Hartselle City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations/contributions can be made to Amedysis Hospice, Cancer Research Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
