Virgil Braxton VanSandt Sr., 88, of Lacey’s Spring, passed away Friday, October 9th.
He was a native of Decatur, AL and a lifelong resident of Morgan County, where he was a member of Bethleham Baptist Church of Lacey’s Spring. Mr. VanSandt was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.
Virgil is survived by his sons, Virgil Braxton VanSandt Jr. (Debra) and Forrest VanSandt (Lisa); grandchildren, Steven VanSandt, Cynthia Bradford, Kelly Longberg, Allen VanSandt, Jesse Clanton, and Daniel Clanton; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara VanSandt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A chapel funeral service will follow directly afterwards with Pastor Joshua Doss officiating.
