Virgie Ann Lyons Murdock, age 90, of Fort Payne, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at her home. She was born April 28, 1934 in DeKalb County, Alabama, to the late William Lonnie Lyons and Madge Lucinda Poe Lyons. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was retired from Earthgrains Bakery.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Cagle officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
She is survived by her children Veleda Reynolds, Delmus Mauldin (Debbie), Anita Murdock (Marty); and Brian Mauldin; step-children Chris Murdock (Patricia) and Robin Cochran (Dave); grandchildren Ashley Reynolds, Trevor Reynolds (Alyssa), and Tyler Mauldin; three great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Murdock.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
