Vina Woman Dies Due To Injuries From Auto Accident On Saturday

VINA-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Vina has taken the life of one person and has sent another person to hospital:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. Saturday, December 14, has claimed the life of a Vina woman.

Chasity J. Gresham, 24, was fatally injured when the 2008 GMC Sierra she was driving left the roadway, overturned, and then struck a tree. Gresham was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the GMC Sierra, Annabelle G. Upton, 25, of Vina, was injured and transported to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence for treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 19 near the 31 mile marker, approximately two miles north of Vina, in Franklin County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
