Vida Ree Parsons Nichols, 89, born to Looney and Hazel Parsons on August 19, 1927, went to be with Jesus on May 1, 2022. She was a member of Palestine Community Church. Mrs. Nichols enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, and sewing. She leaves behind 5 children, Jane Chastain of Iuka, Robbin Freeno (Brenda) of Glen, Lanelle Young (Danny) of Tishomingo, Jennifer Wilson of Tishomingo, Katrina Glenn of Arkansas; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Parsons (Sue) and Joe Parsons (Becky); one sister, Joy Bitterman; 7 nieces; and 2 nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Looney and Hazel Parsons; 2 sons, Bill Hoover and Buster Akers; two grandsons, Jason Hoover and Douglas Akers; two sisters, Fay Curtis and Gay Honeycutt; one brother, Pete Parsons; two nieces; and three nephews. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Palestine Community Church. Services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Palestine Community Church. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
