Vida Mae Clemmons – Obituary

vidaVida Mae Clemmons age 99 of Florence passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, January 26, 2016 at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Services will be Wednesday, January 27 at Mt. Zion Church of Christ at 2:00 P.M. with Mrs Clemmons lying in state from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Walter Rayburn and Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Clemmons, Parents Chesley and Edith Quillen. Brother Amos Quillen (Alice). Sister, Ethel Hollman (Bill). Son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Betty Clemmons. Four granddaughters. A son-in-law, Donald Goodman and a daughter-in-law, Ellen Clemmons.

Vida is survived by her children, James Robert Clemmons (Millie), Juanita Goodman, Nan Clemmons, Ann Clemmons, Charles Clemmons, Norma Deweese (Ron), Bobbie Rayburn (Johnny), Ricky Clemmons, “adopted “ daughters Ana Lopes and Kayla Collins. Ten grandchildren; Jeffery Clemmons, Darlene Carroll, Anna Langston, Travis Clemmons, Kristy Yancey, Dawn Smith, Amanda Magee, Jerry Rayburn, Casey Rayburn and Walter Rayburn. And numerous great and great great grandchildren.

She is a member of Mars Hill Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Rayburn, James Quillen, Casey Rayburn, Jeffery Clemmons, Chris Moran and Ken Case.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers, Ann Clemmons and Kayla Collins. Hospice of Tennessee Valley, especially nurses Cindy, Sandra and to Bridget for all her care and support.
