Mrs. Victoria Jean Barton, age 66, of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Aurora Nursing Home in Columbus.

Mrs. Barton was born February 18, 1957, in Vernon, AL, to M.F. Duke and the late Glory Helton.  She worked at Generations of Vernon as a CNA and with the activities and social services.  She was married to the late Tony Barton, and was also preceded in death by her mothers, Glory Helton and Gail Duke; two brothers, Shotgun Duke and Richard Harris; and two sisters, Ginger Waid and Sandra Duke.

Funeral services will be Sunday, April 2, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. James Godsey officiating.  Burial will follow at the Celebration Worship Center Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Matt Duke, M.J. Duke, Justin Hudson, Darrell Waid, Eugene Waid, and Christopher Waid.

Survivors include her children, Judy (Henry) Allen, Jeff (Barbara) Matthews, and Amanda Matthews, all of Vernon, AL; seven grandchildren, Ashley Moore, Heather Bowling, Ricky Bowlin, Toni Allen, Hannah Matthews, Rebecca Matthews, and Paisley Matthews; seven great-grandchildren, Tamara Westbrook, Cameron Shelley, Kinsley Houser, Oakley Matthews, Trystan and Trenton Willingham, and Sebastian Bowling; her father, M.F. Duke of Vernon, AL; two sisters, Nancy Welch and Diane Duke; three brothers, Bennett (Glory) Duke, Matt (Tina) Duke, and Doug Duke; a special friend, Laura Franklin; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
