Minister Victor L. Garner was born on May, 18, 1966 in New Market, Alabama to Mary Pope Garner and Logan Garner. He was called home on November 6, 2024 at Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care surrounded by loved ones.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Janaya Lucille Fletcher; niece, Mary E. Garner; nephew, Logan F. Garner; grandparents, Mr. William and Mrs. Mable Pope; great grandparents, Mr. John Leslie and Mrs. Mary Garner; mother-in-law, Mrs. Joann Alexander Clay; father-in-law, Mr. Woody Lee Clay.
He graduated from Buckhorn High School. He also attended Drake State Technical College. He graduated from Huntsville Bible College. He served in the U. S. Army. He worked at Schwarze Industries until his health started declining. He was a member of St. Rebecca P. B. Church at an early age and was in the Male Choir. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and Alabama football.
He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife of 19 years, Terri L. Clay Garner; four children: Latoyia Y. Jackson (Andre), Tawanda Fletcher, Marvin L. Clay-Crutcher, and Jasmine R. Clay; 11 grandchildren and a special granddaughter who was like his own child, Ms. Sha’kya Clay-Duerod; sisters: Phyllis Garner, Priscilla Miller, Veronica Toney (Cliff) and Wanda Stewart; brothers: Vincent Garner (Angel) and William Garner (Terri); sister-in-law Andrea M. Jackson (Christopher); brother-in-law, Mr. Woody L. Clay, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Saint Rebecca Primitive Baptist Church (330 Grimwood Road, Hazel Green, AL 35750) with Reverend Anthony Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
