Vicki Denice Puckett, age 67, of Madison, Alabama passed away in the early hours at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama Saturday, April 8, 2023 after a long illness. There will be no service. The family plans to celebrate her life with a private memorial.
Denice was born August 27, 1954, in Decatur, Alabama at Decatur General Hospital. She is proceeded in death by her husband Michael Lee Puckett, her father Benny Ray Flack and her mother Ethelene Crow Flack, all of Decatur.
She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver Lindsey Puckett Morris (Randal) and her granddaughter Cambridge Delaney Morris of Madison. She is also survived by her sister Jennifer Moore (Paul) of Trussville, Alabama, and her brother Samuel Flack of Trinity, Alabama. Also by her niece Carly Kiggins (David) of Hendersonville, Tennessee and her nephew Chase Brewington (Dalila) of Trinity, Alabama. She leaves behind two great nephews Warren and Brewer Kiggins and two nieces Ivy and Iris Kiggins of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Denice graduated from Austin High School of Decatur, Alabama in 1973. She completed her associate degree in dental assisting later. She enjoyed working as an assistant in Oral Surgery for several years before the birth of her daughter. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and wife before returning to work after her husband passed away. Her passion was providing child care and her position being with the Huntsville Child Care Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
Denice loved her family and especially her granddaughter. She was blessed to live with her from birth to now age six. She was a great lover of animals, especially her cats (many of which were stray) that she welcomed into her home over the course of her life…starting with her beloved Dylan. She was among one of the founding families that started Westmeade Baptist Mission now known as Westmeade Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama.
Her family would like to express our thanks to the staff of Huntsville Hospital, especially MICU, who provided such loving care of both Denice and her family during her final days.
