Mrs. Vertie Depreast Townsend, age 82 of Hartselle died Friday, December 13, 2013.
There will be a Memorial Service Monday December 16, 2013 at 2:00pm at Cedar Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery. There will be no Visitation.
She was born May 11, 1931 in Hartselle, Al. to John Mckinley Depreast and Thelma Johnson Depreast.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband David Edward (Dick) Townsend.
She is survived by 1 son: Patrick Whitney Townsend(Suzanne) of Hartselle, Al.
1 Brother: Louis Depreast(Betty) of Hartselle, Al.
1 Sister: Barbara Depreast Lawrence, of Decatur, Al.
15 Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Pee Wee Murphy and Johnny Lawremce.
Vertie graduated from Danville High School as Valedictorian in 1949. She worked at
Citizen’s/SouthTrust Bank of Hartselle for 43 years. She was a member of Cedar Creek Freewill Baptist Church for many years. She was a true Christian and a kind lady. She cherished her family and friends dearly.
