Vernon Junior “Red” Holder age 64, of Winchester, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2021 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester. Vernon was born on April 22, 1957 in Winchester to the late Ben Austin and Sarah Josephine (Hice) Holder. He enjoyed being at the Winchester Speedway on race nights, and if he was not there you could find him fishing or watching wrestling. Vernon never met a stranger and was always positive and full of life. He was a member of the White Oak Grove Church of God. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Judy Holder and brothers, Houston Holder and Charles Eugene Holder. Vernon is survived by his niece, Cynthia (Joseph) Cunningham; cousin, Lynda Davis; special caregivers, Kristin Vaughn, Tonya Steele, Tabitha Talley – Thomas, Lois (Mama Lois) Berryhill; caregivers and special friends at New Life, Ava Crabtree, Brooklyn Garner and Natasha Gryglewski; long-time friend and supporter, David Jackson; long-time friend, Bill Denby; and best friends at New Life, Jimmy Clark, Jimmy Isbell and Jackie Owens and the rest of his New Life friends. Visitation for Vernon will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
