Vernon Dale Colburn

Vernon Dale Colburn, age 57 of Haleyville, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Lakeland Community Hospital. He was born November 14, 1967 to Johnny Morris and Brenda Ann Colburn. Vernon loved fishing, hunting, and classic cars. Most of all, he was a family man who loved his grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, April 4, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at New Hope Church at Mt. Ebron in Double Springs. Vernon will lie in state Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church, with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Vernon is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Colburn; son, Jonathon (Lori) Colburn; daughters, Kim (Keith) Self, Holly (Bud) Barnett, and Cherie Long; grandchildren, Jeffery Colburn, Evan Colburn, Aaliyah Colburn, Keith Self, Kaylin Self, Kensley Self, and Herman Barnett; mother, Brenda Colburn; brother, Sammy Colburn; sisters, Stephanie Martin and Lou Ann Adair; five nieces; four nephews; seven great nieces; nine great nephews; aunts and uncles, James and Bonnie Colburn, Bobby Ayers, and Russell and Kathy Hill. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Colburn; mother-in-law, Marion Glover; and grandparents, Johnny and Vernice Colburn and Albert and Ada Pearson.
