Verlie Lee Rideout

Verlie Lee Rideout, 83, of Florence, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at her residence. She was a homemaker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will take place at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Verlie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Rideout; parents, Jesse and Verlie Putman; sisters, Bobbie Wright, Peggy Putman, Doris Myrick, Louise Berness, Joyce Terry, Nell Holden; brothers, Gene Putman, Buddy Putman, Dennis Putman; half-sisters, Janie and Annette.

She is survived by her sons, Randall Rideout (Patty) and Brent Rideout (Tracey); daughter, Michelle Rideout (Stevie; grandchildren, Juston Rideout, Brent Rideout (Lindsey), Tosha Hensley (Travis), Kendall Rideout, Tanner Swann, Levi Rideout; great grandchildren, Shyston, Barrett, Treylan, Owen, and Alyssa Rideout, Izzy, Bennett, Mila, and Macey Rideout, Raylee and Avalynn Hensley, Coleton Foster, and Hannah Woods; half-sisters, Freda and Cassey.

Pallbearers will be Randall Rideout, Brent R. Rideout, Brent G. Rideout, Travis Hensley, and Juston Rideout.

Verlie loved to cook for her family and you never left her house hungry.  The minute you walked in, she would ask you if you were hungry or wanted some coffee.  She loved to yard sale, go fishing and go on an occasional trip to Tunica.  She loved her family and will be missed dearly.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Mrs. Rideout’s caregivers, Wanda Thompson and Gail Collins, Hospice of North Alabama, and hospice nurse, Lindsey Rideout.
