Mrs. Vergie Vaughn McClendon, 96, of Guntersville passed away Friday Oct 13, 2023. She was born and raised on Wyeth Mountain in Guntersville. Mrs. McClendon was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. McClendon; parents, Allie A. and Etta Marsh Vaughn; brothers, Chad Vaughn, Garnett Vaughn, Cecil Vaughn and baby Vaughn; sister, Clara Vaughn Sherill. She is survived by her sons, Gary McClendon (Lita) and Gerald McClendon (Pam); daughters, Kay Sterling (Dale), Sherry Patterson (Mike) and Kathy Brown (Bob) and also several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McClendon was a member of Victory Baptist Church, she graduated from Marshall County High School in 1946. She enjoyed being a homemaker, mowing her yard until the ripe old age of 86 and spending time with her family.
The Graveside Service will be Tuesday October 17, 2023 at 2:30 at Marshall Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be Tuesday October 17, 2023 from 1:00pm till 2:00pm at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville, Al.
