Funeral for Verbie Eddy Melson, age 92, will be today, August 30, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Bryant and Bro. Wayne Bumgard officiating. Visitation was August 29, 2015, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Alexander-Welborn Cemetery.
Mrs. Melson, who died Friday, August 28, 2015, at NHC Healthcare was born October 30, 1922, in Lawrence County to the late Isac Eddy and Sena Smith Eddy. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.K. Melson; parents; son, Seburn Melson, granddaughters, Anita Lacy, Myra Melson and Mary Melson; and grandson, Timothy Prater.
Survivors include sons, Billy Melson and Rayburn Melson, both of Moulton; and daughter, Dorothy Prater; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives will serve as pallbearers.
