Vera R. Earley – Obituary

Vera R. Earley, 90, of Huntsville left to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years: Norman W. Earley; mother: Lillian C. Ramsey; father: Ernest E. Ramsey; four brothers and one sister. Vera graduated from Temple Hill High School in Castlewood, VA and began her career in Kingsport, TN. In 1959 after moving to Huntsville, she and her husband opened Earley’s Optical Dispensary and Plaza Optical. After her 31 year career, she retired and served at Whitesburg Baptist Mother’s Day Out for over a decade. She is survived by her daughters: Terrie E. Kelley (John McClure), Teena E. Brown (James) of Huntsville and Toni E. Speer of Gallatin, TN.; grandchildren: Gina K. Davis (Tommy) of Madison, Patrik E. Speer of Franklin, TN, Christopher J. Brown (Amanda) of Huntsville, and Libby B. Moise (Alan) of Smyrna, GA; greatgrandchildren: Tabitha Belle Moise, Maggie Anne Moise and Samuel Duke Brown and her sister: Helen R. Caldwell of Chattanooga, TN. A graveside service was held at Maple Hill Cemetery for the family. Memorials may be made to Whitesburg Baptist Church Mother’s Day Out Program.
