Vera Mae Brown Patrick, age 96, passed away October 31, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Care after an extended illness. She was born on May 18, 1917, to Paul and Lethie Burcham Brown. A born again Christian, she was Free Will Baptist by faith. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be greatly missed.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday November 3, 2013, at the Mantachie Chapel of McNeece-Morris Funeral Home with the Rev. James Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Patrick (Octa) of Mantachie; one daughter, Shirley Mills (David) of Endville; four grandchildren, Brad Patrick (Karen) of Corinth, Kim Williams (Jamey) of Mantachie, Johnathan Mills (Samantha) of Mantachie and Brandon Mills (Jessica) of Cabot, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren, Eryn, Jess, Ashlan, Devin, Tara, Jade and Aria; one brother, Dee Brown (Pam) of Mantachie; two sisters, Elvie Clouse and Cora Phene Cooley both of Mantachie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Patrick in 2003; one sister, Sue Lamb; four brothers, Kenyon, Lester, Ray and Jay Brown.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Junior Lamb, Jeff Lamb, Charles Brown, Larry Dee Brown, Thomas Brown and Roger Brown.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p. m., Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the funeral home in Mantachie.
