Mrs. Velma “PeeWee” Little Evans, age 94, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at her home in Lexington. She was born September 11, 1928, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to the late Floyd and Emma Rose Barnes. She was a retired Department Manager for Walmart and a member of Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church. She loved sewing and canning but her grandchildren were her life. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Edward Little and Guinea Carlos Evans; one son, Ronnie Evans; two brothers, Willard and Betty Barnes and Harold Barnes; and one son-in-law, Tommy Riney. Survivors include her two sons, Terry Evans (Angela) and Don Evans (Terri); two daughters, Lynn Riney and Gail Little (Roger Williams); brother, Ed Barnes (Peggy); sister, Mary Lawler Gonzales; four grandchildren, Shannon Wood (Mike), Lorie Beecham (Buddy), Cristy Lawler (Eddie), and Edward Williams (Katie); nine great grandchildren, Derrick Clark, Ally Fleming (Reggie), Haylee Hightower (Eric), Becca Lawler (Hayden Wray), Kristin Wood, Xander Wood, Catelyn Beecham, Dylan Beecham, and Luke Williams; and three great grandchildren, Jay, Rowan, and Makkaila.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Caraway Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 10 AM – 1:30 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington.
