Velma Parsons Montgomery, 92, of Iuka, MS, died Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Booneville. Mrs. Montgomery was born May 11, 1927, in Iuka, MS. She was a member of Burnsville Church of Christ and a homemaker who enjoyed cooking. She also loved talking and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Earlene Parsons of Iuka; three nieces, Glenda Newcomb (Chester) of Iuka, Sharon Shea (Mikey) of Iuka, and Melissa Henderson (Eddie) of Burnsville; three nephews, Keith Parsons (Janice) of Madison, Gary Parsons (Mitzi) of Tupelo, and Danny Parsons (Dora) of Iuka. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Montgomery; an infant daughter, Shirley Jean; her parents, Oscar and Mae Parsons; two brothers, Gerald Parsons and Lawrence Parsons; and a sister-in-law, Eugena Parsons. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, at Burnsville Church of Christ, officiated by Steven Hodgin. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers include Matthew Brumley, Mikey Shea, Chester Newcomb, Eddie Henderson, Gary Parsons, and Keith Parsons. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Burnsville Church of Christ.
