Velma Newton Richardson Mitchell was born in Giles Co. TN December 26, 1930 and left this world December 28, 2023 two days after her 93rd birthday. Velma was a dedicated member of East Hill Church of Christ and previously employed at Pulaski Jr High Cafeteria and Fafnir.
Velma was preceded in death by loving parents Florence and Herman Newton. Husbands: Gary “Legs” Richardson, Henry “Red” Mitchell, brothers Clarence Newton (Jewel), James Newton (Martha), Thurman Newton, Porter Newton, sisters Wilma Pierce (Thomas), Elizabeth Felker (Jerry), and her beloved best friend and sister in law Jewel Newton preceded her in death by 12 weeks.
Visitation will be 12-2pm Saturday December 30, 2023 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2pm. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Survivors include her son Terry Richardson of Phoenix, AZ, niece Melissa Roller (Randy), great niece Elizabeth Roller, nephew Steve Felker, special friend Debbie Henson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and fellow Senior Citizens.
