Velma Leigh Vaden, age 77, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Visitation will be Thursday, 6 until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Troy Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Vandiver Hollow Cemetery.
Mrs. Vaden was a Colbert County native and a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Lee and Mattie Mae Zills Fisher; brothers, Davis Fisher, Ross Fisher and Robert Fisher Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert L. Vaden, Sr. of Tuscumbia; sons, Johnny McDonald (Dorothy), Mike McDonald, Phillip McDonald (Norma), Joey McDonald, Hubert Vaden Jr(Kim), Anthony McDonald (Tracy) and Shannon Vaden(Lydia); daughters, Connie Tank (James), Sharon Barksdale (Raymond); brothers, John Fisher (Janice), Lanny Fisher (Lorrie); sisters, Pauline Redding (Hubert), Lily Mae Adkins, Frances Perkel (Jake), Ann Kidwell (Bill), Mildred Means, twenty three grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Patrick McDonald, Tony McDonald, Brandon McDonald, Eric Barksdale, Tyler Barksdale, Dakota Vaden, William Vaden and Colton Vaden.
