Velma Lee Thomas Lovell, 65, of Athens, AL, passed away Tuesday, August 6
surrounded by her family. Mrs. Lovell was born December 11, 1958 to Walter and Wilma
Thomas. She was a member of Coxey Church of Christ. Velma was married to John,
the love of her life for 46 years. She was a homemaker with a passion for her husband
and daughters and supported anything that they were involved in. She was a Girl Scout

when she was surrounded by her family and her church family and never without a
smile on her face.

sister Karen Howard (Roger); brother Greg Thomas (Sharon); and many beloved
nieces, nephews, and cousins. Velma was preceded in death by her parents and her
