Velma Juanita Walls, age 84 of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in her home while being comforted and loved dearly by her family. Velma Was born in Franklin County on December 5, 1939, to Elsie (Garrison) and L. B. Floyd, Sr. She was loved by all who knew her and was the BEST mother, Nanny, and Great-Nanny, as well as a great friend to many. Juanita left her mark on this world and even in her own struggles, she never hesitated to drop those things in life to her dear family and friends. She would be just your listening ear, or she would be a helping hand, always with positive and uplifting words of comfort. Friends would call her a wonderful person, but her family knew her as their rock. She leaves behind big shoes to fill, which her family hopes to do and make her proud. Juanita was loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tennyson Walls; daughter, Vickie Walls; sisters, Ophelia Champion, and Hazel Brown; and daughter-in-law, Ginger Walls. Juanita is survived by her loving children, Gwen Walls, and Randall Keith Walls (Betty Hill); brother, L.B Floyd, Jr.; grandchildren, Ashley (Brian) Parham, Brittany Walls (Calvin Phipps), and Mikey Snyder; great-grandchildren, Kinslee Snyder, Hadlee Walls, Caroline Walls, Jayce Parham, River Parham, and Dawson Parham; sister-in-law, Geneva Walls Finney; and many nieces and nephews. We are left with faith knowing that those who are in Christ will meet again and find comfort and peace that Juanita is now complete with joy as she has now been reunited with her loving husband and baby girl. Now she has no more sorrow, only an eternity of peace, joy, and unmeasurable love. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
