Velma Bryson Baker was born on August 30,1933 in Kentucky, the daughter of the late Roy J. and Clatie Catherine Bryson.
On August 24, 1963, she was united in marriage to David Baker, who preceded her in death on September 9, 1997.
Velma worked compassionately as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed gardening, riding her scooter, and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Velma also greatly loved her English Bulldogs, George and Buddha, who became spoiled to her love.
Velma departed this life on October 17, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 17 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Hill and her husband Rodney; and grandchildren, John Hunter Hill and James Barrett Marlowe and his wife, Kasey.
In addition to her husband, Velma was preceded in death by her daughter, Edwina Marlow; sisters, Dorothy Jackson and Sue Harmon; and brother, Robert Bryson.
