Dr.Vaughn Lynn Bullough, age 91, of Florence, AL passed away, Tuesday, July 12, 2016. A celebration of life will be Saturday, July 16, 2016 with visitation from 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. Service will be at 10:00 a.m.at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Dr. Bullough served four years in the Navy during WWII in active combat in the Pacific Theater, on the USS Saratoga and USS Cumberland Sound. Dr. Bullough earned a PHD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Utah. He worked at Reynolds Aluminum for 32 years as a research scientist, and he is credited with 12 patents in his field. He was a member of American Chemical Society, American Institute of Metallurgical Engineers and Muscle Shoals Sailing Club. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Dr. Bullough was preceded in death by son, Bruce Lynn Bullough and brother, Dale Bullough.
Survivors are his wife of 69 wonderful years, Jewel Stapp Bullough of Florence, AL; sons, James Stephen Bullough (Linda) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Roger Dale Bullough of Nashville, TN; daughter, Barbara Ann Bullough Riherd (Thomas) of Lake Butler, FL; sisters, Vivian Downward of Bountiful, UT, Carolyn Condie (Kent) of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
