Our sweet mama, Valeta Kaye Lemmond Carr, of Florence, returned to her heavenly home, February 18, 2024, after a brief illness at the age of 73.
She was a special mama who was there when anyone needed her. Valeta was always ready with a smile and never met a stranger. She loved sending cards of encouragement to friends and beloved family. Valeta also loved teaching smocking, and heirloom sewing and made the most gorgeous clothes for many years. She was an avid quilter and a proud member of the “Shoals Piecemakers Quilt Guild.” Valeta had lots of friends and was a cherished member of Creekside Church of Christ.
She was preceded death by her parents, Buey Evon and Colleen Turney Lemmond. Those who carry on her memory are her children, Adam Carr (Liz), Florence, AL and Allison Carr, Huntsville, AL; brother, Mert Lemmond (Nicki); sister, Connie Blasingame; grandchild, Ashley Hill; great-grandchildren, Bryant, Sawyer, K-Mae, Bennett, and Frankie.
We invite you to a casual visitation to gather and celebrate mama’s blessed life on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Creekside Church of Christ. Burial to follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
