[6 PM 12/25] County officials across much of North Alabama still strongly discourage traveling overnight–flooding continues across the area, and many roads are still flooded and dangerous! Nightfall makes it worse, since it will be harder to see if a road is flooded.
If you must travel, use extreme caution, slow down, and TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN! Use extra caution around creeks and streams, as the flooding will worsen in larger waterways as all that water moves downstream.
