ATHENS-Mayor Ronnie Marks and County Commission Chairman Collin Daly are honoring September as Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month.
Just a few of the events and happenings in and around Athens for the month of September:
Sept. 1: Pep Rally on The Square by Athens High at 3 p.m. on Marion Street, east side; there will be fans, team, band, cheerleaders, etc. Much loved Athens tradition to kick off the first home game of the season.
Sept. 7: Athens-Limestone Hospital Foundation’s Crystal Cup golf tournament fundraiser: Canebrake: proceeds will go toward a new state of the art echocardiogram ultrasound machine for the Imaging Dept. Call Caroline Canestrari for info at 256-762-7043
