“Up From Slavery” Historic Trolley Tour Set For September 26

Tennessee-Valley-Historical-SocietyTHE SHOALS-The Tennessee Valley Historical Society will present a trolley tour of black history sites in Florence conducted by local historian Lee Freeman on Saturday, September 26.

“Up from Slavery: A Tour of Black Historical Sites in Downtown Florence ” will leave the Florence Lauderdale Visitor Center in McFarland Park at 11:00 a.m. Participants are requested to arrive at 10:30 a.m. for registration, refreshments and an introduction to the tour. Tours last approximately one hour.

Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students and children small enough to sit in caregiver’s lap may ride free.
