FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama will host a Best Practices in Experiential Learning Conference, Friday, Feb. 3, on UNA’s campus.
The conference will focus on best practices in internships and service learning; undergraduate research and integrated learning; study abroad and field experiences; integrating experiential learning into course curriculum; and legal practices in working with students outside the classroom.
Dr. Amber Paulk, associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Family Studies at UNA, said they opened registration a few weeks ago, and the response has been overwhelming.
“We have approximately 130 individuals registered for the conference from UNA and NWSCC,” said Paulk. “And we will be streaming the conference on Facebook Live on the College of Arts & Sciences Facebook page.”
The conference is open to any full-time faculty member at UNA or NWSCC with the rank of instructor or above, adjuncts, administrators, staff and graduate students. There is no cost to attend the conference.
Funding for the conference is being provided by UNA’s VPAA’s office, Quality Enhancement Plan, University Honors Program, the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business.
