featured unaFLORENCE. – The University of North Alabama College of Business now offers two new concentrations in its MBA program, which is also considered one of the most affordable programs in the country.  Students can now receive a graduate degree in Human Resources or Innovation Economic Development.

UNA College of Business Professor of Management and Marketing Dr. Jeremy Stafford said the Human Resources concentration was developed last fall and received final approval this past spring.

“The difference in the human resources MBA compared to a typical MBA is that we will focus on advanced topics in workforce UNA-MA logodevelopment & human resource planning, and we will also have a course in global HR,” said Stafford.  “Businesses recognize the importance of investing in human capital, and concentrations such as this will provide our graduates with an increasingly in-demand skill set.”

In addition to the concentration in Human Resources, starting in spring 2016 UNA students will have the opportunity to receive an MBA with an emphasis in Innovative Economic Development.  The program equips economic development professionals with a deep understanding on the role of innovation and how it enhances economic growth. Students in the program will learn how to craft strategies, policies, and platforms that will support the acceleration of innovation and economic growth and the quality-of-life improvements that result when communities and regions create vibrant innovation ecosystems.
