FLORENCE– For the second year, the College of Business at the University of North Alabama leads the state in the number of Master of Business Administration (MBA) students enrolled. According to a recent listing of MBA programs compiled by Birmingham Business Journal, UNA’s program placed at the top of the list with 687 enrolled students for 2017. Second in the state for enrollment was Auburn University with 583 students and UAB held the third spot with 450 students. Other schools ranked include University of Alabama at number four, and UA Huntsville at number five in the listing that included all ten of the Alabama based programs.
“We continue to see steady growth in our MBA program,” said Dr. Gregory Carnes, Dean of UNA’s College of Business. “Our enrollment for the upcoming spring semester is trending about 30 percent higher than the same period last year. In addition, we are expecting to enroll 40 students in our EMBA program in Taiwan in late January.”
UNA’s MBA program has received national attention recently, and in June the Executive MBA (EMBA) concentration was named the top program of its kind in the U.S. by Online Course Report. In August the MBA program was ranked third among 200 universities nationally by Best Colleges Review.
The Birmingham Business Journal is a Birmingham based publication focusing on business news throughout the State of Alabama. Their listing of Alabama’s Largest MBA programs was released in their December 22 edition.
