FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama will be test optional for the Fall of 2021 for students who may have faced difficulties in taking the ACT and SAT standardized tests as a result of the global pandemic, according to Julie Taylor, Director of Admissions at UNA.
“We know that COVID-19 has created overwhelming challenges, and we hope this temporary change addresses these challenges,” she said. “By going test optional for Fall 2021, our hope is that it lessens the burden for the senior class of 2021.”
For the Fall of 2021, the University will allow students in the Class of 2025 to apply without requiring a standardized test score. The same process was applied for students who graduated from high school in the spring of 2020. They were considered for admissions without the addition of a test score by submitting the Admission Decision Appeal. Taylor said the University would use the same process for high school graduates in 2021.
