FLORENCE – For the second year, the University of North Alabama has ranked among the
best Public Regional Universities of the South category, according to the 2021 list released by
U.S. News & World Report. This year, UNA moved up to 17th in this category, and the
institution ranked in four other notable categories as well.
“We are very pleased to receive this designation for the second year, especially in the midst of so
many challenges we have faced as an institution during these past six months,” said UNA
President Dr. Ken Kitts. “Our performance across each of these categories indicates that we
continue to provide a high-quality education to all of our students, from traditional to online to
international.”
In addition to UNA’s regional ranking, the University was also listed as:
24th in Best Colleges for Veterans (tie)
40th in Best Value Schools
40th in Regional Universities South (tie)
99th in Top Performers on Social Mobility (tie)
