Two-Vehicle Accident Takes Life Of New York Man Near Fort Payne

FORT PAYNE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident that has taken the life of one person and sent two other  people to hospital with injuries:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. Thursday, June 22, has claimed the life of a West Hempstead, N.Y. man.

Kaysohn T. Baker, 32, was fatally injured when the 2015 International Durastar that he was a passenger in, left the roadway and struck a parked 2017 Peterbilt tractor trailer that was occupied by William J. Lewis, 58, of Cartersville, Ga.

Lewis was injured and transported to Dekalb Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the International, Marvin A. Campbell, 36, of Chattanooga, Tenn., was injured and transported to Erlanger Hospital for treatment. A 15-year-old juvenile passenger in the International was also injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on Interstate 59 near Dekalb County 608, approximately one mile north of Fort Payne, in Dekalb County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
