Two-Vehicle Accident Takes Life Of Ardmore Woman

TONEY-On Tuesday, January 26 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported a two-vehicle accident that took the life of one person and sent another to the hospital:

“A two-vehicle crash at approximately 6:15 p.m. Friday, January 22, has claimed the life of an Ardmore woman.

Gertrude E. Sloan, 79, was fatally injured when the 2015 Honda Accord in which she was a passenger was struck by a 2012 Nissan Maxima. The driver of the Honda, Joe Daniel Mitchel, 79, of Ardmore, was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Sloan succumbed to her injuries en route to the hospital.

The crash occurred on Wall Triana Highway at Pulaski Pike, approximately five miles northwest of Toney. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
