ATHENS-On Friday, August 7 the Athens Police arrested two suspects and charged them with Burglary charges. Here is the statement from Police Chief Floyd Johnson on the tw arrests:
“On June 19, 2015 the police department received a call from 24697 Beacon Circle in Athens. The victim told officers she left her purse in her vehicle and her vehicle was in her garage. Later in the day she missed her purse. The purse contained driver’s license, credit cards and other miscellaneous items. On June 20, 2015 the victim discovered her credit cards had been used at Wal-Mart in Madison, Dollar General on 72 at County Line Road and Burger King on 72 East in Madison.
Investigator Tim McIntire was able to obtain Photos of a white male and a
white female using the credit card and leaving Wal-Mart. McIntire showed the photo to Investigator Jeff Kilpatrick with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department. Kilpatrick was able to identify the two as Buffy Wachsman and Christopher Joe Hodges. On June 25 the Sheriff’s Department arrested Wachsman and Hodges after a pursuit that went into Madison County.
McIntire obtained a warrant for both Wachsman and Hodges for Burglary 3rd degree. They were both arrested on our charges on Friday afternoon. Both were already in the county jail on previous charges.”
