Two Men Die In Single-Vehicle Accident In Lamar County

LAMAR COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident in Lamar County that has taken the lives of two Vernon men:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, has claimed the lives of two Vernon men.

Roger Chaffin, 63, was killed when the 1998 Nissan Frontier he was driving left the roadway in a curve and struck a tree. Chaffin and his passenger, Richard McDuffie, 62, were pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred four miles north of Vernon on Alabama 17 at approximately the 247 mile marker, in Lamar County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
