FLORENCE-Florence Police apprehended two men after officers watched the pair attempt to commit burglary on a business on Florence Blvd. yesterday. Here is the police account of the capture.
Shaun Quentin Sanderson, 31, and Keith Lamar Kelley, 43, both of Florence, were jailed shortly after 3 am this morning after a police officer watched the pair attempt to burglarize a business on Florence Blvd. Lt. Ken Lester was conducting a surveillance detail this morning when Sanderson and Kelley attempted to break into Fred’s Super Dollar located at 4150 Florence Blvd. According to police reports the two unsuccessfully attempted to enter the business. They then turned their attention to a soft drink machine located in front of the business. As they were vandalizing the machine they were confronted by police. The two then fled the scene in a vehicle as police gave chase. The pursuit ended in a nearby residential area and both were caught after a short foot pursuit. Both Kelly and Sanderson are jailed in the LCDC charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd, Criminal Mischief 1st, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Attempting to Elude. Additional charges are pending.
