ATHENS-On Saturday, May 30 Athens Police made two arrests.  Here is how Police Chief Floyd Johnson describes the arrests:

“Alice Mountesani Chapman was arrested Saturday afternoon a Grand Jury warrant for Theft of Property 1st degree. In March of 2014 Redstone Federal Credit Union reported to the police department Chapman had passed several checks on 3 different closed accounts at Redstone’s South Jefferson Street branch. There were 6 checks cashed for a total of $4350.00. Chapman was booked at the police department and transported to the

was arrested Saturday evening on a warrant for Fraudulent Leasing. In March of 2014 the police department received a complaint from Rent-A-Center That Creel had not kept his contract to pay for a Samsung laptop and a Whirlpool washer & dryer. Creel owed $1484.26 on property. In May of 2014 management from Rent-A-Center obtained the warrant for Creel. Creel was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
