DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department has had an ongoing investigation into drug activity near Westbury Ct in Decatur. Two arrests have been made in this case.
Here is how the Decatur Police describe events leading up to the arrst of two suspects:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
For the past few months, investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit have been working on a complaint of drug sales and use at 2213 Westbury Ct SW Decatur, AL 35603. During the investigation a quantity of heroin was purchased from Jordan Blake Owens at that residence.
On June 10, 2015. Investigators were able to ascertain and execute a narcotics search warrant for the residence.
During the execution of the search warrant, Investigators made contact with Jordan Blake Owens and Sarah Elizabeth Tait.
The search of the residence yielded a quantity of Heroin, Prescription pills and Sublingual strips that are a controlled substance available by
prescription only, a quantity of Marijuana as well as Drug Paraphernalia that is consistent with the packaging and selling of drugs.
Owens was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Tait was placed under arrest and was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both Owens and Tait were transported to the Decatur City Jail. Neither of their bonds have been set at this time.
The charge of Distribution of a Controlled Substance is a Class B felony. The term of imprisonment upon conviction can range between two years to twenty years for each charge. The fine for a Class B felony may be as much as $30,000.00 for each charge.”
